A. Each morsel size varies therefore it is difficult to measure. Each RFT is pure digestible protein and is generally very low in calories with practically no carbs. A. Foil lined bags are the only way to maintain the integrity of freeze dried food. UV light and moisture are the enemies of freeze dried meats. Fresh food is easily spoiled in clear jars or bags with see through windows. In addition, foil lined bags produce significantly less flaking at the bottom of each bag.

Q. Do I have to re-hydrate Real Food Toppers?

A. No – most pet parent’s feed RFT dry, straight out of the bag. However, you can re-hydrate morsels with warm water for 1-2 minutes for a moist, succulent and juicy texture. You can even crumble up the morsels in warm water and add to kibble for natural gravy. Each 4oz bag of RFT re-hydrates to over one pound of meat.
